Dr. John R. Roberts Celebrated for 30 Years of Practiced Industry Experience
Dr. Roberts is a trusted thoracic surgeon at Nashville’s own Tri-Star Medical Group
NASHVILLE, TN, October 3, 2016, Dr. John Roberts has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. Recognized for three decades of invaluable contributions to his field, Dr. Roberts parlays his knowledge into his most current role as a thoracic surgeon with Tri-Star Medical Group, where he has served since 2011. In the early 1980s, he earned a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University, and four years later, he earned an MD from Yale. Subsequently, he assumed a surgical residency with Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he remained from 1986 to 1992. Dr. Roberts then completed a one-year fellowship in surgical oncology at Johns Hopkins. For the next two years, he worked as a fellow in thoracic surgery for Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass., before serving as an assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania, where he remained until 1997.
In more recent years, Dr. Roberts was the chief general of thoracic surgery at Vanderbilt University and thoracic surgeon at Surgical Clinic from 2003 to 2011, Southeastern Research Associates, and now Tri-Star Medical Group. Additionally, he served as a professor of cancer research, Richard Wilson visiting professor of surgical oncology, and a general lecturer in the field.
Throughout his career, Dr. Roberts has achieved much, including the Resident Research Award from Johns Hopkins Hospital. Additionally, he mentored the winner of the Alfred Soffler Award presented by the American College of Chest Physicians and he was included in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
